Baidu's Driverless Car Can Deal With Complicated Chinese Road Conditions:

The Baidu driverless car is the first vehicle in China to be able to autonomously navigate the variety of mixed conditions on offer on the country's roads.

Beijing is a city that is known for inconsistent road conditions and unpredictable, often erratic driving behavior. The Baidu driverless car impressively navigates its way through the city thanks to its use of a whole raft of technologies. These include highly automated driving or HAD maps that can record 3D road data to within centimeters of accuracy. The car is also equipped with smart detection, recognition and decision-making technologies, which work with proactive perception and object recognition tools to allow the car to safely navigate its environment.

The Baidu driverless car is quite the automotive feat considering the environment it has proven to be able to operate in. The vehicle proves that there is going to be plenty of healthy competition in the autonomous car space in the years to come.
